Meet Lulu…

The Therapist Me

When I work with individuals I am anchored in the intersectionality of feminism and social justice principles because our different identities do not exist in separate vacuums, but rather at the intersections of those identities (such as race, gender, sexual orientation, and more).

True healing and transformation require an understanding of the context (familial, cultural, societal, etc.) in which harm has happened.

I believe each person’s experiences are inseparable from their contexts and try to offer a space where harmful power structures can be disrupted to make way for healing, liberation, and empowerment.

The effects of colonization continue today, and I'm committed to deepening my knowledge of them and implementing decolonizing strategies in the professional counseling setting and personally, as well.

I believe that we all have the innate capacity to heal & thrive, as well as the divine right to live authentically.

The Personal Me

My professional beliefs are rooted in my personal life experiences as a queer individual and my own trauma healing journey. During my own healing process, I benefited from natural medicine and holistic processes rooted in ancient indigenous wisdom. Body-centered modalities helped me develop a greater understanding and awareness of my whole self and the mind, body, and spirit connection.  These experiences provided the foundation for my journey into somatic work.

I spent the last 5 years as a “female” solo traveler with the majority of my time in the Middle East, Asia and parts of South America. I am a slow traveler and immerse myself in communities for long periods of time because I value building connections. Moving slow and getting curious about life also translate into how I work with individuals.  I recently returned to the US and settled in Colorado and I am thoroughly enjoying the process of planting roots.
